Spiced Sweet King Prawns

A great recipe for a tasty snack.

Spiced Sweet King Prawns

  • I tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3cm(1inch) piece root ginger, peeled and sliced
  • 300g(11oz) raw king prawns in shells (deviened)
  • 2cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine or dry sherry
  • 2tablespoons chilli sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup ( no need for this is you buy sweet chilli sauce)


  1. Heat a wok over a high heat and add sesame oil. Add ginger and garlic and fry for 5 seconds
  2. Add prawns and stir fry for 1 minute
  3. As the prawns start to turn pink. Add the rice wine and cook for 2 minutes. Then season with ketchup and chilli sauce.
  4. Toss well in the wok. Garnish with spring onions and serve with rice.
